"Loss of Tone" Complaint

What kind of an arrangement/tool do you use to apply pressure on the 3M pad
to the string underside? Something like a stringing hook? Wrap the pad
around one string and shoeshine? Some ingenious custom tool? Do you have
teeny tiny little fingers? Thanks
