To: Terry Farell, Delwin Fandrich and others on the list. I thank you for the suggestions on buying or providing a home for a give-away piano for practicing repair of parts. I don't have room in the home or garage for a piano for this purpose. My intentions are not to be a rebuilder with lots of room for this purpose. I'm studing and practicing to be a tuner/technician. I do have a Farrand baby grand piano in the home which presently doesn't need any time spent on repairs as it falls into the category of "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". I do practice tuning exercises on this piano. I'm just looking for a few old parts, which I'll pay for gladly. Again, thank you all, your are most supportive in many ways to the beginners. -----Original Message----- From: Gordon Holley [SMTP:gholley@hi-techhousing.com] Sent: Thursday, September 06, 2001 10:08 AM To: 'pianotech@ptg.org' Subject: Old parts for repair practice Hello List. I'm interested in getting some old parts for repair practice, such as: Grand hammer flange w/hammer Grand whippens, which don't necessarily have to match with the hammer flange and hammer. Vertical whippens. Vertical hammer w/shank and hammer butt. Keys with backcheck, naturals or sharps. I'm practicing repair on all of the above. I would gladly pay a fee for your trouble and mailing costs, so if you have items such as these in your old goddies box and you could spare a few give me a responce. I do appreciate all of the assistance I've received from all of the pro's on the list and hopefully someday I'll be able to payback for your help and education.
