some thoughts on the attacks

Friends,

No matter how you feel now about what has happened in NYC, DC & PA , why
they did it, or what the US will do in response the people of the US (IMHO)
will be united in a way unprecedented since WWII.

I believe that we have ALL been touched. When the missing are tallied and
listed, we will find that we are all no more than two people away from
ground zero.

Unscientific, but I asked almost everyone I spoke to today, if they knew
anyone at WTC, Pentagon, or PA, or who had witnessed any of the
events. EVERYONE, INCLUDING STUDENTS, KNEW OF SOMEONE. (friend of friend,
parents of one student, brother of professor, etc.)

Consider my own case:
-My cousin and her daughter live 8 miles apart.
-The PA plane came down between them.
-They both had debris in their yards.

We lost 58,000+ in Viet Nam in how many years? There could be a
significant fraction of that amount from just one day!

The slaughter will become personal to everyone. Perpetrators beware. The
sleeping giant will awaken.
