A really good rule of thumb here--if you have any reservations at all about
the structure of the piano, whether it be square, triangular or rectangular,
analyze the original scale as if it were tuned to A=440 (because sooner or
later it will be no matter what it says on the plate) and rescale dropping
the overall tension by 5% to 10% (depending on your evaluation of the plate
and structure. Make sure you don't have the tensions of any one section any
higher than they were originally.

Who knows--it might even sound better at the lower overall tension.
