Here is one. If an entire grand piano was built using...say....12 gauge piano 
wire, the piano would be about 25 feet long for the lowest bass string to 
have the correct mass for its pitch. 

This is all theoretical of course. Since the hammers usually strike the node 
of the 7th mode, the strike point on this piano would almost 4 feet from the 
agraffe. Makes for a tricky regulation, huh?
