(which was an extension hammer, BTW) Perhaps as suggested titanium is NOT more rigid, but the design of this lever is such that the metal is basically a cone shape, so that it gets wider as it gets to the wooden handle. Maybe that's why it's more rigid than my old lever--it's actually thicker. (but lighter!) Tom S
