Well, so much for keeping OT off the list!!!!

I didn't choose this particular message to respond to. It was just the last (so far). Easier to hit reply.

The effort to keep posts re: politics, religion etc off the list has only suppressed it down to a low roar.

Actually, I rather enjoy them up to a point. They tell me a lot about the sendee and doesn't affect my beliefs at all.

People go to two extremes. Some make all decisions in life and base their beliefs on pure unadulterated emotion. They even hurt themselves and others in the process. The other group uses logic and common sense to the point that they can't make decisions because it's not possible to get sufficient data to justify the decision. We all fall in there somewhere.

When I see a post that reeks of emotions (easy to spot) I wonder if they use emotions in their piano work. (I purposely omit temperaments). Emotions are not inherently bad until they trump logic and common sense. Just don't use emotions to set let off to 3/4 inch. Don't read the bible on your death bed just looking for loopholes.

I submit that when you come across a post that was surely
emotionally generated, as long as you are comfortable with your own beliefs there is no need to respond. No amount of logic or common sense will have any effect anyway.

That's my take.
