Are you referring to the #2582? The pedal mounts for vertical? It's 
the lever whose pivot hole is bunged out, not the mounting blocks. 
There would also be the matter of the pivot's height above the 
mounts' base.

So fa,r the best idea is to convert to a wooden hole sized for a good 
"push/press" fit.
