Jon: Unfortunately this varies -- a lot! One of our teachers here has a 7/8 keyboard for a Steinway D made to be installed in any Steinway D. It has adjustments on EVERYTHING. One of them is the damper lifter felts. It can be adjusted up or down quite a bit to accommodate different pianos. Steinway probably has a specification for this, but from my experience it seems to be widely ignored. dave *********** REPLY SEPARATOR *********** On 12/18/2002 at 9:46 AM Jon Page wrote: >Does anyone know just what the height above the keybed is the key end >damper lifter felt on a Steinway? > >Is it: 1 1/4" or 1 3/8". >Regards, > >Jon Page, piano technician >Harwich Port, Cape Cod, Mass. >mailto:jonpage@attbi.com >~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ > > >_______________________________________________ >pianotech list info: https://www.moypiano.com/resources/#archives _____________________________ David M.
