Tom, first of all, this is a grand, right? You mention grand and =
vertical both, is why I ask. If I remember correctly, the Samicks have =
like a metal plate that screws onto the pedal. Perhaps the screws have =
loosened. There's really nothing to be afraid of with taking the pedal =
assembly off. Just remove the lyre, turn it upside down, take off the =
bottom of the pedal box, and see what's going on in there. Should take =
you 20-30 minutes. I'd wish you good luck, but it's not needed in this =
case.=20

Subject: Samick pedal problem
I have a new client who owns a small Samick grand which has wobbly =
pedals. =20
Two of the three pedals move from side-to-side. Now, I've never had =
to take=20
a lyre apart and do such a repair, so I'm not sure what I'll find =
inside=20
there. I'm confident that I can fix the problem, but I'd rather do it =
one=20
visit if I can.
The Schaff catalog offers three pedal brackets:
#2587 metal with nylon bearins, two separate pieces for each pedal
#2582 cast iron, one piece for each pedal
#2588 nylon, description says "suitable for use on most vertical =
pianos"
In fact, all these look like they are "suitable for use in vertical =
pianos,=20
so maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree.
