Avery,

The Schaff tool is poorly designed and made of inferior material.  Mine
twisted off when I tried to use it.   I replaced it with a similar tool from
Pianotek (Part # BPE-1) which cost less and is much stronger.  I agree with
John regarding the heat - it's a good way to loosen the pin.  Good luck
