David, there was a thread about this awhile back and an article in the =
journal some years ago. I've wanted to try it too, but haven't yet. =
Call me if you like to review the info.

  Subject: Springs for the soundboard

Has anyone ever tried putting a heavy spring between the bridge and =
the plate strut in the upper section of the piano to add pressure to the =
board with the idea of improving the tone? Or, I suppose, on the =
underside of the board between the bracing and the soundboard pushing =
up? Does it have any effect?

  David Love
