It was news to me that others have had problems with key leveling staying the same. Most of the key leveling I've done is down at the store where I work, and I haven't noticed any of the keyboards becoming uneven, even after they are purchased and are in their new homes. Most of these are new pianos, however. Perhaps, as you suggested, Don, rotating the old felts when I replaced them is exactly the problem. I will try replacing the old balance rail felts with new ones, and I'll iron them first! As to the environment, i.e., the fireplace, I hope no one minds if I forward your emails to them, in hopes they reconsider the placement of the instrument. Thanks for the advice, Tom Sivak
