cat on the lid

Another option -- I've read a good way to keep a cat
off your bed is to put down a sheet of aluminum foil.
Cats hate the way it feels on their feet as well as
the noise. Not sure if it would be as noisy sitting
on a piano lid, maybe a folded blanket underneath it
as well to make it noisy? Of course this is a rather
unsightly fix, but may work for just a temporary
"training" period (like you can really train a cat :)
)

This could be safer for the piano than the water
bottle approach unless your customer is a real
sharpshooter.
