The behavior of soundboards

Phil,
     In glancing over the post just sent I find I left out the word not
where the subject of stiffness is taken up.  Where it says"The
supposition of an inifinite stiffness is necessary for this to occur."
In fact, what was intended was "The supposition of an infinite stiffness
is not necessary for this to occur.
