It's nice to have everything perfectly correct, but I'm not going to lose sleep over it. > > David Love > ----- Original Message ----- > From: Robert Bergantino > To: pianotech@ptg.org > Sent: July 07, 2002 8:45 AM > Subject: Re: Excessive-Compulsive > > > Hi John/James: Not compulsive at all. It is really too bad how persons on this list- and sadly,in general- butcher the language. It is so common that it is becoming acceptable to the many- and therein lies the problem. Common usage=accepted behavior. Subject lines even contain misspellings that are perpetuated over and over.... and on and on. Anyway, I for one, support your stand. You are certainly not offending me. > ----- Original Message ----- > From: James Baker > To: pianotech@ptg.org > Sent: Sunday, July 07, 2002 1:14 AM > Subject: Excessive-Compulsive > > > I can't help this - I'm sick...It's not my fault, but I just have to put this out there. > > There - at that place > Their - belonging to them > They're - They are > > To - preposition > Too - adverb > Two - a number > > Obsessive-Compulsive - a mental condition (which I am displaying here) > > Oh yeah, Here - at this place > Hear - a sense > > I apologize to any and everyone I just offended and beg you > to overlook my many transgressions. > > Sorry, > > John Smith (no, not that John Smith) John and James, I know I am guilty of many grammer and mispelling transgressions, my only excuse is lack of interest in school, what with girls, motorcycles, surfing, and work (oh yes, did I say girls?) I severely neglected the classes that bored me. I wish I had paid more attention for now I have a great interest in communicating as accurately as I can. My point being that there may be others who not out of lack of care, but out of ignorance make the same mistakes I have. I also think we may have a tendency to short cut E mails because they are generally informal in nature. For expediencies sake as long as the point gets across grammer may take a back seat. I promise I will keep trying to improve. David Koelzer DFW
