This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment Hi Alan, Try gently blocking each hammer to the string and with the dampers = raised plucking the string to identify if all of the unison is in = contact equally with the string to hammer fit. If there are ones that ring out on an upright, you can either influence = the string up or down, or remove felt from the crown of the string that is blocking. If you = still have a whine, it might be caused by uneven speaking lengths due = to bad bridge notching. Or even DREAD you might even have to consider = replacement of the string. Strange sounds from the first to to three plane wire unisons at the bass = tenor break are always the hardest for me to tune arround.
