List: Just want to update all on my pitch raise problem w/Pocket RCT: Looks like the problem was with my PDA, not the software. There is a small area of the screen which does not always accept touch information from the stylus. In other words, you tap on the screen in this one small area and sometimes, nothing happens. I became aware of this while playing solitaire; there is one stack of cards I have to tap on the upper half of the card to play it. I didn't connect the fact that this is in the same spot as the "START NEW" pitch raise button is. So, when I tapped "START NEW" nothing was really happening. I was using a prior pitch raise file, which resulted in the overpull amounts being completely wrong. I realized what was happening when one time, I tapped on the "START NEW" button and the window closed! This didn't happen the last time I used it: I had to close the window with the "OK" at the top of the screen. That's when I put 2 and 2 together, and realized what had been happening. Since then I'm aware of when I tap the "START NEW" button and nothing happens, so I tap it agian to the left in the corner of the butotn and voila! Window closes and I'm off and pitch raising! In addition to emailing the pianotech list and the ctuner list regarding this (non)problem, I also emailed Dean Reyburn. Dean not only returned my email, he also called my home personally. This is the kind of tech support you get from these guys. As a Cybertuner for about 5 years, I am continually impressed with the personal touch I receive from Dean and company. Through email, he helped me choose a PDA, he installed the software for me at the convention, and any time I've had a question, in the past, he has been available to help. Anyway, I just wanted everyone to know that my Pocket RCT is now giving me the same kind of accurate pitch raises I've always gotten with my laptop. This is one of the prime reasons I use RCT and PRCT: I believe my tunings are more stable due to my pitch raises resulting so close to target. Sorry for any undue alarm I may have caused! A once again happy Cybertuner, Tom Sivak
