Is there any INDEPENDENT study published that backs up the claims that are made regarding these system's supposed beneficial effects on pianos? When I say independent, I don't mean a study paid for by Dampp-chaser. The company has a vested interest in the results and would not publish a contrary report. I also don't mean a study performed by techs who are proponents of the equipment. They has a similar vested interest as well. Any takers? Matt Wynne Matt, I'm not associated with D.C. in any way. I've installed systems for many years and can attest to the benefits of a correctly installed system. Is my opinion based on scientific study? No. Just the experience of finding piano's with systems installed near pitch when most others are as much as 20 cents sharp this time of year. I've found the staff at D.C. to be sincere, helpful, and diligent in their efforts to improve their product line. Respectfully, I find your comments and characterizations quite negative. I.E. D.C. muckity muck ? You also infer that those of us who are proponents of the systems can't have a valid-objective opinion. As to the incorrect installations, I've also seen many mistakes but we don't fault the auto manufacturers when their products are driven at 90 miles per hour and cause damage. I've noticed a focus by D.C. in recent years to help and inform techs in correct installation. The schematics available to us on the web site a case in point. This is just the opinion of a piano tuner. Tom Driscoll RPT
