Are there any suitable replacement hammers available for small, late 19th century uprights with very small hammers? I'm working on an action at the moment that really should have new hammers if it is going to continue in service. All the upright hammers that i have seen have bass hammers much too large. Or should i find someone to recover the originals? Any comments from those who regularly work on antiques? Actually now that i think about it, the bass hammers aren't a bad shape, so perhaps i should just look at replacing treble only? Scott Jackson Jurjens Pianos Wollongong Australia
