No warranty on labor? That explains it - I was unaware of such a thing. =
And, that ends the story as I'm divorcing myself from any more to do =
with this instrument. I stood around at the customers request yesterday =
for 45 minutes waiting for the other guy but he didn't show. That's it =
for this one as I have no interest in doping the thing with pin tite or =
CA or chipmunk urine. Thanks all.

At any rate, the question was: Does anyone on this list see =
doping a new instrument as an appropriate repair for a NEW piano that =
will not hold a tune? Thanks

Normally NO. I'm not being absolute here because there is often =
room for exceptions, and this is one of them. A quick peek at Larry =
Fine's book revealed that the warranty terms cover materials only with =
nothing towards the labor. Given that these are such low-level pianos, =
it makes financial sense that the labor be kept to a minimum.=20

Now the question is, what will the pinblock be doped with? =
Pin-Tite or a related product? Or CA glue for a more =
technically-correct approach? Will you be in a position to discuss this =
with the far-away technician being sent by the dealer?
