To all who responded to my original post:
I think I knocked down a hornet's nest. I guess my enthusiasm for
national conventions sounded pretentious. Terry, you're right, my subject
should have been "10 Reasons". I never meant to demean anyone. Everything
in life has a priority, conventions being one of them. There are sound,
valid reasons why some can't attend, and I understand that. The replies
