Brian,
I have been away from this list for about that time...I do know about =
sandblasting action parts but have never heard of a technique to =
revitalize old crusty compressed felt via sandblasting, either with sand =
or pecan shells...
Best,
Greg

About two years ago sandblasting was discussed - not actually sand but =
ground pecan nut shells

Hi,=20
You can use an air compressor, leaf blower,or vacumn cleaner to =
blow out the action.=20
I have a sand blaster (inexpensive to make) ,that I use,to clean =
action parts. Also half ammonia, half water, will get rid of all kinds of =
dirt, and debris. The sand blaster will also revitalize old crusty, and =
compressed felt.=20

2. A quick question on cleaning actions: The old upright I am =
restoring has=20
an extremely dirty action. It is very very dusty. How would you =
go about=20
cleaning this? I would be interested in hearining how you would =
go about=20
doing this with a minimum set of tools ("the hard way"), or in =
an=20
established shop.=20
