Hazen,
One question: Did you twist each string at least 1/2 turn, in the direction
of the winding? If you did, then I would strongly urge you to take note of
which strings are bad. Call Mapes and ask for replacements.
I hate to say it, but this is why I cannot recommend Mapes. I've had too
many poorly made strings from them. And I think you'll find that their
attitude sucks. End of Rant. Flame suit zipped tight w/appropriate gloves,
mask, etc.
