DC installation in a Steinway Model V

Hi--
I'm about to install the special DC system made for the Steinway Ks,
etc. with the very narrow bottom compartment. From the diagrams, it
sure does look like a Rube Goldberg contraption.

Anybody have any words of wisdom about this? About the black plastic
that goes on the back-- any hints, pitfalls, etc. would be much
appreciated.

I've installed about 6 or 7 DCs in regular uprights, but this one is
a first!
