Hi David, I usually just flex the mute assembly, and slip it off. I had a problem once, where I didn't get the screw tight enough, when I reassembled. The newer models seem to have a screw, that is friendlier, with a slot as well. It seems to me, I have seen this assembly, with a wing nut, although it might have been a Young-Chang. Regards, John M.
