Sound. It's particularly helpful for trying to match the low tenor aurally 
with the high bass where the soundboard assembly is too flexible at the end 
of the long bridge and you get that booming tubby sound. A weight is fixed 
under (back or bottom side) the end of the tenor bridge. Of course, that 
may be poor scaling too, and mass loading won't help that.
