I agree. The first year I tuned, I offered senior discounts,
teacher discounts, etc. I soon discovered that almost
all the seniors had far more money than I did, and that
the people who demanded discounts were the very worst
possible customers, the ones we can very well do without.

If I see that people are genuinely needy, they still get
to pay my basic fee, but I slip a lot of little repairs,
etc., into the session.

Telling people right away how far ahead I'm booked is
probably enough to keep them from wanting to dicker. At
least, no one has tried to for years, now.
