only aural tunings are good

Hello,

I've done 3 mod D together using RCT, and , while the pianos had their
pitch focusing on the same partial, their fundamental sound was not as
together as if they where tuned two by two aurally (very slow beat
between the same notes sounding at a slightly different pitch).

I could tune with the 3 keyboards at hand, and was surprised to find
differences in pitch (by ear) while the display shows the something (a
partial)

Difference was way less than what artists was asking anyway, but there
was one.

I've done once the same with the VT, and the piano exhibits their own
personality so much more that the eventual differences in pitch where
not a concern (if there where any, that I could not really check
precisely this time).

3 different characters playing, it was really more pleasant, as I
recall (was 8 months ago)

On concert pianos, the 3d partial based progression of the RCT is well
suited as it goes the same direction that what aural tuners do when
they tune it "German" , with almost pure faiths and large twelve's.
But there is always a place when the soft switch to 2nd partial, where
the progression is to be tweaked to stay consistent.

We where 2 users of the RCT in these times, and we mostly follow it
till the 5th octave, then the remaining was tuned in more pure 2:1
sometime more stretched in the high treble, but mostly on an octave
check (plus a 17th check when unsure for me).

When I had complain from pianists was always about the high treble in
these times (too high generally)
