David, If your tunings are so much different than a excellent tuning by a good tech with an ETD I've got wonder if your wandering into quazi-well tunings...An excellent ET tuning isn't going to vary THAT much from one to the next except in the extremes... David I. PS I think it's time you had your tuning measured, just for scientific reasons...so we can put it in the Smithsonian...;-] I would suggest you consider taking the PTG test...put aside the ego...I believe you may find some humility right around the corner! David I. >not heard a machine tuning that is as musical, singing, and spacious as >my aural tuning, and I've followed up on some really good EDT users, some >famous, at least regionally so. >All I have is my ears, and my musical sensibility. And my incredibly >high and sometimes harsh standards of critique of my own work----believe >me when I tell you I would not have been making these statements 5 years >ago, or even 3 years ago, but I feel like I've opened a new door in my >craft the past couple of years, and it revolves around coming back to, >and really trusting, believing, and owning something I learned at the >very beginning of my career: follow the fourths, and trust my musical >gifts, and trust my ears, and constantly strive for more perfect unisons. >Be well, out there on the cold plains.......David A. >_______________________________________________ >pianotech list info: https://www.moypiano.com/resources/#archives
