Hang in there, pal.  The "best" is your best, what your ears and your 
sensibilities tell you.  Do your best because you're eminently worth it, 
and because it's the right thing for a human being to do.

It's an individual challenge.  You'l never please everyone, or even most 
people, so do the best for yourself.
