Cents

Keith, cents are a relative calculation of distance: 1200 x ( log( f 2/f
1 )/log(2) ); it is not possible to simply say that 'so many' cents equal
'so many' beats. In a low register, a large distance in terms of cents will
have a relatively slow beatrate; the opposite is true for the high registers
because the frequencies are much faster.
