Hello List Let me try to explain it as easy as I can Cents against hertz it is a very variable measure, because "Cents" comes from a 1/100 part, but it does not refer to hertz or frequency. The idea was to measure in metric system, they assigned 100 cents to half tome in order to standarize in metric system. In this way from one semitone to the other you will have one hundred cents, no matter what octave is in and no mater what the frequencies in that range, it would work more as "a percentage" of the pitch the piano is in and you can and in fact you are able to use it to set the pitch in which you are tuning.
