Nobody or very few people will ever use low numbers nowaday,

More, I can tell you that the last time I was in US, I opened an account in
one of your banks, and they issued me the checkbook starting at 1000,
stating, thst some business were reluctant to accept checks with a low
number on it...

The same, for factories. In a highly Competitive market, just try to pull
out a car with No 1....  "Would you buy it?   I think nobody would, so they
make about 1000   and they will number them XXXXXXXXXXXXX
