staples in hammers

   I once heard that if you remove staples from hammers you could reduce =
weight.  So in my shop I removed a few staples and found the weight =
varies from .11 -.16 grams. hardly worth it. Does anyone do this? Second =
,why do some hammers have staples and some not.  =20
