Hi Dave,
                  I wrote it, I'll stand by it, yes it works, believe 
it.   And yes the label states, do not use on brass.    So don't believe 
every thing you read on label's.
I thought I had discovered some thing,  then Joe Garrett mentioned he had 
been doing it for years.   With no adverse results, soak then for 5 mins 
tops, and rinse and dry well.
