Amen. The local University here just invested in 1.5 million in new Steinways, and a multi-million$ building to put them in. In almost no time the keys, desks, key-covers, etc. were smeared with slimy, stinky ooze. One fabulously talented Asian girl would take in a bucket of chicken, eat with fingers, then play without washing ( all Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsodies, one after the other!). Really greased 'em up good! I'm not a staff tech at the U, but I politely suggested signs asking students to wash hands before playing, and was told that they could not do this as it would "offend the students" Sheesh! With such "manners" why are they even in college, playing on Steinways? Wouldn't 1st grade and Schoenhuts be more appropriate? There is far more to being an artist than mere technical ability.
