Long Distance Tuning Blues

I got the Long Distance Tuning Blues.........

The K&C console, subject of my slow action post a week ago. I had removed the action and lubed it. I MAY have neglected to re-install the sustain pedal rod. Lady called up last night and said that they could not use piano last Sunday (it is in a small country church) because of no sustain.

This piano is near Dade City, Florida - about 50 miles north of me. I serviced the piano because my contact is a nearby regular customer. I should not have gone that far. 

I have no other appointments anywhere near there this week. Now today, I get to drive 100 miles to presumably re-install a sustain rod.

What a bummer. Just sumpthin' ya might want to consider when such an opportunity strikes (or threatens!). Hope there are good tunes on the radio.

Or, or course, on the other hand, you could simply be sure to replace the darn trapwork rods!   :-(
