Actually, i knew about the plastic flanges BEFORE i bought it, and had 
checked that they were in good shape. long story short; that $175 investment 
paid off...I sold it already for $850! Not bad, eh?

It looks like you've got your latest "project piano": replace all that 
plastic with wood components. THEN reevaluate whether you paid too much at 
$175. You WILL have gained some valuable experience in the process 
(repinning flanges, bending damper wire), and you'll ALWAYS inspect 
potential purchases (or customers' for estimates) much more carefully in the 
future!
