Titebond extend gluing times.

I was wondering this exact thing myself. I am STILL constructing a couple massive clamps for forming/laminating 9-inch wide ribs. Parts of my jig have required laminating pieces of wood that measure 9 inches by up to 59 inches. I have been using regular Titebond and Titebond II and spreading it out with a 3-inch-wide roller (thanks Ron O. for the idea - really spreads even and fast). When I need to glue up six rib laminations at a time, even with the glue going onto a piece really fast, it still takes a good 10 minutes to get all the clamps (20 of 'em) on the jig and real snug (I'm working on a system to reduce this time). So I have the concern that gluing the rib together with this schedule may result in less-than-optimal glue joints.

I was thinking that I should be using Titebond Extend. Or liquid (cold) hide glue. What are thoughts on the good ol' hide glue - it has lots of working time - ribs and panels are not for underwater work, are they?
