Better yet, glue the bushings in the plate holes (just before final
assembly). One could do this in or out of the piano, but in either
case there should be a firm surface underneath the plate web (in the
piano, the installed block, outside, a piece of scrap plywood),
separated by wax paper.
Not that I've ever been in to position of having to do something like this....
