Cut the glue/finish line where the guide touches the case. 2. Drop or brush acetic acid or white vinegar along the line. 3. Wait 5 minutes, repeat step #2. 4. Wait 5 minutes, place a block of wood on the guide and tap the end = of the block gently with a hammer as you move it along the guide. This = should loosen it enough so you can wiggle it out cleanly. Some are secured with screws = and they're no problem. But the mortised strips are a real pain. Being = mahogany, they invariably shatter along the grain lines and I end-up = either gluing the individual pieces back together for reassembly or just = make new ones. I can NEVER remove them cleanly. Is there a secret method = that someone would like to share? Thanks.
