weird "threaded" tuning pin

Hmm?! If these tuning pins have a standard(?) thread, like a bolt, and the
plate, itself has the same thread.....Then I wonder if the tuning pin might
be tapered? Or, if not, then why not try something like ThreadLoc? There are
various types of this stuff. Some, that allow the "bolt" to be turned back
out, but tight enough to eliminate it coming out due to vibration, etc. Just
a thought.
