Charles,
I assume you are in business for yourself. Get real, here, guy. Please?!
What it costs, most self-employed people to, just, open the doors, so to
speak, is a helluva lot more than what it costs us. If you want to a
professional, in a highly skilled field, get your "business" hat out and
where it always! Please.
Does it make a difference if the string is .005" off from it's neighbors?
Your darned right it does. If you were reasonably skilled, at tuning, you
would know that "that" note will not match anything else in the piano. As
you labeled yourself as a "newbie", your misconception of the idiosyncrasies
of the piano, is somewhat understandable. However, if you are not affiliated
with a good tuner, as a mentor/student, then you need to seek out such a
person....like yesterday!!!
End of Rant!
