I just re-read your note, Carl, and I would think that if it is a 
longitudinal mode frequency beating with a flexural mode frequency, the beat 
rate will change with even a small pitch change, since the FMF will change 
and the LMF won't. I'll try it tomorrow when I see the B. Thanks. Good idea.
