When we do this the objective is to take out some specific percentage of crown during the bearing setting process. The amount of preset will vary depending on the type of ribbing (heavy/light, high crown/low crown, etc.) and the length of the backscale. With a light, low crown and long backscale system I'd want the board preset closer to flat, with a heavy, high crown and short backscale system I'd want the board preset a bit high. There's no standard--it's all relative. Del
