I highly recommend that you try my bizarre-sounding
method of dunking the action parts in SuperClean
(TM),rinsing under hot water, then drying on a screen
in a dry breeze, flipping frequently. This works SO
well that it is amazing to behold, leaves the parts
gorgeously clean for
re-felting, and frees the centers all at the same
time!
    If it sounds too weird, try it on a junk action
first. I expect that you will quickly be convinced.
