Upright Stringing - Pressure Bar/Terry

Terry,
Do some prep on the pressure bar screw holes, before starting to string.(ie
get all the saw dust/chips out; drill out each hole for proper "beyond
depth")  Check all the screws to be sure they are sound, (slots, etc.). Use
Bee's Wax on all the screws. Have all the screws plated with the bar itself.
THEN....String without the bar in place. Pull the strings to an even, very
low tension, (just barely enough to hold the coils). Then install the bar.
Tighten the bar like you were "torqueing" an engine head. Work methodically
in this regard. Once the bar is in it's proper position, the piano will
probably be up to 1/2 tone low. <G> All of this falls under the category of
DAMHIK![G]
