Ooooooh, you're good! I was the one who replaced the hangers last year, i.e., bent nails and epoxy. Apparently I made them just a smidge too long, so the rod is a smidge too low and scrapes a few of the spoons (a smidge). I didn't notice the squeak last year and the customer never complained, I just noticed it while playing to test my tuning this morning. I couldn't think of a fix that didn't involve major surgery, so I confess I just put it back. They need new bass dampers anyway so next time I'll fix it (no chaaahge) while working on the whole damper system. Alan R.
