First edition of Wolfenden

Hi all,

My wife, Kristie, and I flew down to Melbourne this morning for a 
friend's fiftieth this evening.

Melbourne is well known for its specialist second hand book shops, 
and my wife, an avid reader and collector of books on myth, loves to 
frequent these hallowed stores in pursuit of the unusual.

Well, as you do, I tagged along to keep her company and to enjoy the 
culinary pleasures of Melbourne's Lygon St. While Kristie browsed the 
mythology section I checked the music section. There, staring me in 
the face, was a first edition of Wolfenden's A Treatise on the Art of 
Pianoforte Construction. Its in quite remarkable condition for its 
age, and I'm sure the bookshop proprietor had no idea of its value. I 
paid AU$40.00 (US$26.50).

While I already have two copies of the reprinted paperback edition, I 
couldn't resist the dark green hardback with its gold leaf title. A 
very lucky find indeed.
